The alert is part of the product too.
These are not screenshots: it is the same component that runs in the application, with its controls. Pick a style, a paper and a wax, and see what would appear in the corner of your screen when mail arrives.

The flap lifts, the wax slides and the subject is in sight. It is the product's visual signature and comes with the free edition.
Mailbox
The post rises, the red flag goes up and the letter shows. The alert closest to someone having dropped your mail off.
Bun
The alert arrives as a crumpled paper ball: it falls, opens and smooths out into the sheet with the message.
Strip
A ruler of wax grows and the text appears behind it. For whoever wants to know without filling the screen.
System
The operating system alert, with no drawing of its own. It is the one that lives best with screen readers and with Do Not Disturb.
And silence when it is needed
With a game, a video or a presentation in full screen, the alert does not show. It is not lost: when you come back, a single card sums up how many arrived and from whom, and opens the inbox.
